Biography
Muhammad Shahrin Islam Chowdhury, also known as Tuhin, is a Bangladeshi politician and the nephew of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He served as the president of the Nilphamari district branch of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and served as the Member of Parliament from the Nilphamari-1 constituency, winning the 1996 general election.

Tuhin is a politician from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
He is the nephew of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

Responsibilities as a Member of Parliament
Despite political unrest in the February 1996 elections, he was elected as a member of the National Parliament from the Nilphamari-1 constituency. However, he could not become a member of parliament again in the June elections of the same year and in the 2001 elections.

He served as the president of Nilphamari District BNP. Later, he also played a role in the BNP’s central executive committee.

He has spoken publicly in favor of democratic elections and the formation of a government through elections.
He has criticized the actions of the current government as “fascist” and called for returning the country to a democratic path.

Life in exile, return and new responsibilities
After living in the United States for about 17–18 years, he returned to the country in 2025.
On his return, he surrendered to the court the same year and was sent to jail due to previous cases.
After a long time after returning to the country, he again started playing an active role in the political activities of Nilphamari.
At that time, a 51-member convening committee of the Association of Engineers, Bangladesh (AEAB) was formed and Tuhin was made the convener of this committee.
Political statements and views
He strongly criticized various policies and activities of the government.
According to him, it is necessary to quickly return the country to a democratic system.
He spoke about the importance of family tradition in politics and also explained the family influence behind his own political role.
In several speeches, he referred to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as “Lady Hitler” and called her government’s activities “fascist”.
